Dinesh Vijan’s much-anticipated biopic on India’s celebrated public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam is back in the spotlight with a major casting shake-up. After months of buzz, Aamir Khan—who was previously in talks to headline the film—has reportedly stepped away from the project.
The sudden change has paved the way for a new frontrunner: Rajkummar Rao. Known for his versatility and compelling screen presence, Rao is now being strongly considered to take on the challenging role of Nikam, whose high-profile legal career includes landmark cases like the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and the 1993 Bombay blasts.
While an official confirmation is awaited, sources close to the production suggest that Rao’s commitment to authenticity and his ability to embody complex real-life characters make him an ideal fit for the role.
