Is Delhi 6 a hit or flop?

Rakesh Omprakash Mehra directed Delhi 6, a 2009 Indian Hindi-language drama film. Abhishek Bachchan plays an NRI who returns to India with his elderly grandmother and begins to learn about his heritage before becoming caught in a religious dispute with a mysterious monkey-like attacker.

Sonam Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, Waheeda Rehman, Rishi Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Atul Kulkarni, Pavan Malhotra, Deepak Dobriyal, Divya Dutta, Vijay Raaz, and Om Puri are among the film’s co-stars.

The number 6 refers to the Chandni Chowk area in Old Delhi’s Postal Index Number (PIN), which is a truncated version of 110006. After Aks and Rang De Basanti, this is Mehra’s third film. A. R. Rahman composed the film’s soundtrack.

The film was released on February 20, 2009, following international debuts at the Dubai International Film Festival and the Museum of Modern Art. Despite its economic failure, it went on to win the 57th National Film Awards’ Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration and the National Film Award for Best Production Design for Samir Chanda.

Mehra’s preferred conclusion was included in the version submitted to the National Awards, but it was unavailable to the general public and was only screened in a limited one-week theatrical release as well as at the Venice Film Festival. The film’s soundtrack has grown well-known over time.
