Rohit Shetty’s Upcoming Film May Feature Tahawwur Rana’s role in 26/11 Probe Led by Rakesh Maria ?

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has hinted that the dramatic extradition of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana might find a place in his upcoming film, which is inspired by the memoir of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. Maria, who played a pivotal role in investigating the 2008 attacks, is central to the narrative of the film, which promises to delve into the untold layers of India’s fight against terror.

Taking to social media, Shetty shared an official photograph of Tahawwur Rana under custody and wrote:

“India didn’t forget. India waited. PM Modi ensured justice. 26/11 mastermind Tahawwur Rana has been formally arrested by NIA upon arrival in Delhi, following his extradition from the US. Escorted by NSG and NIA officials, Rana now faces trial for his role in one of India’s deadliest terror attacks.”

Rana, a key conspirator in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, was extradited from the United States after years of legal proceedings. His arrival in India marks a significant breakthrough in the pursuit of justice for the victims of the horrific siege that left 166 dead and scores injured.

The film, still untitled, will reportedly portray the painstaking efforts of Rakesh Maria and his team during the 26/11 investigation, and now, with Rana’s extradition making headlines, it is expected to be a compelling addition to the script.
