What happened to Shyam Ramsay?

Shyam Ramsay died of pneumonia in a metropolitan hospital on 18 September 2019. ‘He was taken to the hospital this morning by family members because he was not feeling well. He died of pneumonia at the hospital,’ a cousin informed PTI.

Shyam Ramsay, a Bollywood film director, was born on May 17, 1952. He was one of the Ramsay Brothers, a group of seven brothers who worked in Indian cinema throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Shyam Ramsay was regarded as the group’s principal artist and leader. Darwaza, Purana Mandir, and Veerana are just a few of the horror films they’ve made.
Their popularity dwindled by the end of the 1980s, as Ramsay shifted his creative energy and focus to television programming, which was in high demand due to the emergence of many private channels in India, such as Zee TV and Star Plus, in the early 1990s.

For Zee TV, he created India’s first horror television series, Zee Horror Show. It was a big hit, as seen by the numerous groups built in its honor on social networking sites such as Facebook and Orkut by its followers.
Following Zee Horror Show, he worked for Zee TV on a few episodes of Saturday Suspense, X Zone, and Nagin. In 2008, he and his daughter, Saasha Ramsay, directed Neeli Aankhen, a supernatural series for Sahara One centered on the concept of a wishful female serpent.
