Paul Stephen Rudd is an actor, screenwriter, and producer from the United States. Before making his acting debut in 1991, he studied theatre at the University of Kansas and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Ant-Man is a 2015 American superhero movie featuring Scott Lang and Hank Pym, based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name. It is the 12th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (MCU).
Peyton Reed directed the picture, which was based on a screenplay by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish, as well as Adam McKay and Paul Rudd. Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pea, Tip ‘T.I.’ Harris, Anthony Mackie, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym star alongside Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man. In the film, Lang is tasked with defending Pym’s Ant-Man shrinking technology while also plotting a robbery with global implications.
The Ant-Man film began its development in April 2006, when Wright was hired to helm and co-write the film with Cornish. Wright and Cornish finished three draughts of the script by April 2011, and Wright shot test footage for the film in July 2012.
It earned more than $519 million worldwide and garnered excellent reviews from critics, who praised the film’s actors, humor, and visual effects, as well as its lower stakes than past MCU films. Ant-Man and the Wasp, the sequel, was released in 2018. The third film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, will be released in July 2023.
