New movies are released every week in Hollywood, but every now and then, the major studios decided to pull out all the stops and hold full-fledged Hollywood movie premiers. The night sky is crisscrossed by high-intensity searchlights. To the delight of the audience, movie stars come in extended limos in front of the theatre. Before going inside to see the movie, TV reporters interview celebrities, and photographers take shots of them on the red carpet.
The majority of these unique film premieres occur on Hollywood Boulevard or in Westwood Village. You’ll also be able to attend the next major event. The Village Theatre and the Bruin Theatre are two of Westwood’s preferred venues for large Hollywood premieres. Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the El Capitan Theatre are two of Hollywood Boulevard’s most popular attractions. The Cinerama Dome (between Sunset & Vine) is the third option, although you can occasionally see a premiere at Universal CityWalk or The Grove.
Occasionally, Universal may screen a film at its Universal CityWalk location. There are a few premieres set for The Director’s Guild or the Academy Headquarters, but they are the exceptions. L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles is a newcomer on the scene, presenting infrequent premieres such as those of the Twilight and Hunger Games series.
