Which are the best comedy movies of Bollywood?

Comedy is a communal hug – or, as Raju Hirani’s Munnabhai would put it, a ‘jaadu ki jhappi’ – that Bollywood has produced at the best and worst of times. When Hindi cinema is at its most inspired, it can be a lot of fun for both the audience and the directors and staff involved in the production. Here is the list of the top 5 Bollywood movies.

1. Munnabhai M.B.B.S (2003): 

Rajkumar Hirani directed and Vidhu Vinod Chopra produced Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, an Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film. Sanjay Dutt, Gracy Singh, and Arshad Warsi featured in the key roles, with Boman Irani, Sunil Dutt, and Rohini Hattangadi cast in supporting roles. It was nominated for four other prizes at the 2004 Filmfare awards, including the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Film, the Filmfare Best Screenplay Award, the Filmfare Best Dialogue Award, and the Filmfare Best Comedian Award.

2. Hera Pheri (2000): 

Hera Pheri is a comedy film directed by Priyadarshan and released in India in the year 2000. Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Tabu are featured in the lead roles. In an online poll sponsored by a leading daily, it was chosen as the best Bollywood comedy film of all time.

3. Dulhe Raja (1998): 

Govinda, Raveena Tandon, Kader Khan, Johnny Lever, Prem Chopra, and Asrani starred in Dulhe Raja, a Hindi-language comedy film released in 1998. Sameer wrote all of the words, and Anand-Milind composed all of the music.

4. Andaz Apna Apna (1994): 

Andaz Apna Apna is a Hindi comedy film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Vinay Kumar Sinha that was released in 1994. Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor act in the key roles in the film. Guest appearances by Mehmood, Govinda, and Juhi Chawla.

5. Raja Babu (1994): 

Raja Babu is a Hindi-language melodrama comedy film directed by David Dhawan that was released in 1994. Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Kadar Khan, Aruna Irani, Prem Chopra, and Gulshan Grover are among the cast members. The film has Anand-music Milind’s and Sameer’s lyrics. Govinda’s comedy-drama flick is one of the best of his career.
