The Viper Room is a nightclub in West Hollywood, California, United States, located on the Sunset Strip. It first opened in 1986, and actor Johnny Depp owned a portion of it. John Christopher Depp II, an American actor, producer, and musician, was born on June 9, 1963. He has received numerous awards, including a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, as well as three Academy Award nominations and two British Academy Film Award nominations.
Depp made his acting debut in the horror movie A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), before going on to star in the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990) as a teen superstar. Depp primarily acted in independent films throughout the 1990s, frequently portraying odd characters. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993), Benny and Joon (1993), Dead Man (1995), Donnie Brasco (1997), and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) were among them (1998). Depp also began working with director Tim Burton, appearing in films such as Edward Scissorhands (1990), Ed Wood (1994), and Sleepy Hollow (1999).
From 2015 until 2017, Depp was married to actress Amber Heard. Their divorce made headlines because she claimed he was aggressive throughout their relationship. After writing an op-ed about being a public victim of domestic violence, Depp sued Heard for defamation in 2019. The case will go to trial in 2022. In a separate libel claim in England, he sued The Sun’s publishers. The High Court of Justice of England and Wales found in 2020 that Depp had lost his libel lawsuit, with the majority of Heard’s charges being proven to a civil standard.
