S. S. Rajamouli, who co-wrote the film with K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, directed Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, a 2017 Indian epic action film. Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni produced it under the banner Arka Media Works. The film was made on a budget of Rupees 2.5 billion. With worldwide revenue of 1,796.56 crores, The Conclusion briefly eclipsed PK (2014) to become the highest-earning Indian film of all time, grossing nearly Rupees 8 billion in just six days.

Kabir Khan directed Bajrangi Bhaijaan, a 2015 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film. Kabir Khan partnered on the script along with K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, Kausar Munir, and Parveez Sheikh. Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and debutante Harshaali Malhotra feature in the film, which is produced by Salman Khan and Rockline Venkatesh. The principal photography for the film, which has a budget of 90 crores (US$13 million), began in November 2014. It is presently the third highest-grossing Indian film and the second-highest-grossing Bollywood film, with a worldwide gross of 969 crores ($150 million).
