*Mumbai, March 23, 2025* – The Hollywood Reporter India successfully hosted the inaugural Women in Entertainment – Power 50 Awards, a landmark event celebrating the extraordinary contributions of women in media and entertainment. This prestigious gathering brought together industry leaders, visionaries, and change-makers from across the country, honoring 50 remarkable women who have redefined the entertainment landscape with their creativity, innovation, and leadership.
The evening was a testament to the immense talent and influence of women in the industry, with The Hollywood Reporter India honoring all 50 powerhouses for their exceptional achievements. In addition, three distinguished talents *Zeenat Aman*, *Payal Kapadia*, and *Preeti Panigrahi*—were specially awarded for their groundbreaking contributions and impact on the industry.
The event also saw the presence of *Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Payal Kapadia, Malaika Arora, Aditi Rao Hydari, Vidya Balan, Kabir Khan, Sushmita Sen, Nitanshi Goel, Guneet Monga, Jahnvi Kapoor, Kani Kusruti, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Jyotika, Diana Penty, Konkan Sen Sharma, Tillotama Shome, Rasika Duggal, Dia Mirza, Neha Dhupia, Nandita Das* and many more.
The event was further enriched by an engaging panel discussion moderated by Anupama Chopra, Editor, The Hollywood Reporter India, which saw participation from *Kiran Rao, Aditi Rao Hydari, Archana Kalpathi, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor* esteemed industry professionals. The conversation delved into the evolving role of women in entertainment, the challenges they face, and the strides they continue to make in shaping the industry’s future.
*Zeenat Aman*, awarded the Icon of the Year award, said, _“I remember that more than 50 years ago, I was often the only woman on set. Today, it is heartwarming to see women making their mark in every sphere of filmmaking—be it as writers, directors, lyricists, choreographers, DOPs, or in any other role. But, I do have something to say: please, please push for pay parity.”_
Additionally, while addressing the many challenges women still face today, filmmaker *Payal Kapadia* concluded by saying _“We need to acknowledge that our industry is not equal and we need to fight for recognition!”_
