Dil Bole Hadippa! is a 2009 Hindi-language sports film directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Aditya Chopra under the auspices of Yash Raj Films. It stars Rani Mukerji and Shahid Kapoor in important parts in the narrative of a young lady who disguises herself as a man in order to join an all-male cricket team. The film has Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, Rakhi Sawant, and Sherlyn Chopra in supporting parts.
The film was released alongside Wanted on September 18, 2009, and garnered mixed reviews upon its initial release. The film is a Bollywood remake of the 2006 American box office success She’s the Man, starring Amanda Bynes and Channing Tatum, which was based on William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.
On July 17, 2008, filming began. Because Shahid Kapoor was shooting for Kaminey from June to December 2008, his scenes were shot in February 2009. Urmila Matondkar was initially approached about playing a cameo role in the film, but she declined. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had previously acquired the rights to Hadippa. Bhansali declined to give Yash Raj Films the rights to the film when they approached him. The title of the film was later revealed to be Dil Bole Hadippa.
For its initial weekend, Dil Bole Hadippa grossed Rs. 11.50 crore in India. It went on to gross a total of 31.72 crores, and Box Office India declared it a flop.
