Was 36 China Town Hit or Flop?

36 China Town is a mystery comedy film directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Subhash Ghai that was released in India in 2006. It’s an approved remake of the American film Once Upon a Crime, which was released in 1992. (which in turn is a remake of the 1960 Italian film Crimen).

Akshaye Khanna, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Shauq, Isha Koppikar, Upen Patel (on his film debut), Paresh Rawal, Payal Rohatgi, Johnny Lever, and Tannaz Irani (billed as Tanaaz Lal) featured in the film, which also features Priyanka Chopra and Tanushree Dutta.

The film recounts a police officer’s inquiry into the assassination of Sonia Chang, a wealthy casino owner. Himesh Reshammiya composed the music for the film. Sameer wrote the lyrics for the song. The soundtrack album for this film was the ninth best-selling album of the year, according to the Indian trade website Box Office India, with roughly 12,00,000 units sold.

This movie is considered a Semi-Hit, with a 2.57 Crore opening day collection. The film’s total collection is 23.05 Crore and 16.75 Crore during the first weekend. With the average performance, the film came under the category of Semi Hit. And it totally depends on the viewer’s choice.
