Which movie is considered the best chef movie?

Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory is considered the best chef movie of all time. Mel Stuart directed a 1971 American musical fantasy movie featuring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. It is based on Roald Dahl’s novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, published in 1964. The movie follows Charlie Bucket, a poor youngster who visits Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory with four other children from around the world after discovering a Golden Ticket in a chocolate bar.

The filming was held in Munich in 1970. The film’s screenplay was credited to Dahl, but David Seltzer was called in to make an uncredited rewrite. Changes to the story were made against Dahl’s desires, and the director’s other decisions caused him to disown the film. Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley wrote the musical passages, and Walter Scharf arranged and led the orchestral score.

On June 30, 1971, Paramount Pictures released the movie. The film, which was made on a shoestring budget of $3 million, garnered mostly positive reviews and grossed $4 million during its initial release. Wilder was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy in 1972, and the picture garnered an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score.

The picture was almost forgotten until the 1980s when it developed a cult following and became extremely famous thanks to frequent television airings and home video sales. The film was chosen for preservation in the National Film Registry of the United States in 2014.
