Suresh Oberoi, an Indian actor, and politician who has acted in Hindi cinema was born on December 17, 1946. He won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1987. He began his career in radio shows, modeling, and then Bollywood, where he became a popular character actor in the 1980s and 1990s. Vivek Oberoi, the actor, is his son.
Suresh Oberoi was born on December 17, 1946, in Quetta, then the Baluchistan Province of pre-partitioned British India, to Anand Sarup Oberoi, a Khatri, and Kartar Devi. He got access to radio shows and stage plays in the early 1970s as a result of his enthusiasm for acting and a good voice, encouraging him to enroll at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune.

Prior to joining the Acting Institute, Suresh Oberoi met Yashodhara, a Tamil Nadu native, and the two married in Madras in 1974. Their son Vivek Oberoi, who is now a Bollywood actor, was born in 1976, and the couple moved to Mumbai. He made his debut with Jeevan Mukt in late 1977. In 1980, he played the lead in Ek Baar Phir, but the film was not a commercial success.
Oberoi has been in the television shows Dhadkan and Kashmeer, as well as hosting the second season of Farooque Shaikh’s chat show Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai.
