Prem Pujari is a 1970 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Dev Anand and produced by Navketan Films. Dev Anand, Waheeda Rehman, Shatrughan Sinha, Prem Chopra, Madan Puri, and an unknown Amrish Puri feature in the film.
S. D. Burman penned and directed several popular songs for the film. Gopaldas Neeraj wrote all of the songs. He, along with S. D. Burman and the other singers and musicians, provided one of their best performances to help win the film’s modest recognition, which was primarily due to its unforgettable music. ‘Shokhiyon Mein Ghola Jaye,’ sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar, ‘Rangeela Re Tere Rang Mein,’ sung by Lata Mangeshkar, and ‘Phoolon Ke Rang Se,’ sung by Kishore Kumar, are three of the film’s evergreen songs.

The film was shot in Switzerland, and one of the music sequences features the Grimsel Hotel. Shatrughan Sinha was chosen from among the audience to play his part. Prem Pujari was partly shot in Astagaon, near Shirdi in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district.
While Prem Pujari did not perform well at the box office, Composer Sachin Dev Burman praised the soundtrack, calling it ‘superlative’ and a ‘great music.’ The songs are regarded as timeless classics due to the purity of their Urdu and Hindi languages.
