Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana has been reportedly roped in to play the iconic character of Prem in filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya’s upcoming project, according to recent media reports. Known for his family-friendly narratives, Barjatya, who helmed the 2022 hit Uunchai, has found his ideal Prem in Khurrana, whose charm and wholesome image resonate with the timeless character.
As per industry insiders, Ayushmann was immediately drawn to the concept of the film and has already established a strong connection with Barjatya. “Sooraj ji feels Ayushmann has the innocence and appeal required to embody Prem in this modern retelling,” shared a source close to the project.
Barjatya’s films have long celebrated Indian values and relationships, and this next venture is expected to continue in the same vein, albeit with a contemporary twist.
