He won the internet, broke a thousand hearts, and somehow managed to steal every scene without saying a single word. Now, after years of small-screen adventures, Grogu is finally making his big-screen debut, and he’s not coming alone. Star Wars: The Mandalorian And Grogu reunites the galaxy’s most unlikely duo with a cast that spans legacy fan favourites, formidable new forces, and at least one very unexpected Hollywood legend. Here’s every major character you need to know before the lights go down this Friday.
Pedro Pascal As Din Djarin
Pedro Pascal is back as Din Djarin, the stoic Mandalorian bounty hunter who quickly became one of the franchise’s most beloved figures. What started as a straightforward mission to capture a small, green child evolved into an unbreakable bond that changed everything about who Din is. This time around, he steps into a far larger, higher-stakes mission, but his commitment to protecting Grogu remains absolute.
David Acord As Grogu
Tiny in stature, enormous in impact. Grogu, the Force-sensitive child who stole the hearts of the entire galaxy, is now inseparable from Din Djarin. A member of the same ancient species as Yoda, Grogu continues his journey alongside his Mandalorian guardian as the two find themselves drawn into the orbit of the New Republic, facing threats that grow darker by the day.
Jeremy Allen White As Rotta The Hutt
One of the film’s most exciting casting additions, Jeremy Allen White brings Rotta the Hutt to live-action for the first time. Star Wars fans first encountered Rotta as Jabba’s infant son in The Clone Wars, but The Mandalorian And Grogu reintroduces him as a fully grown adult. The story reportedly kicks off with Din and Grogu being assigned to rescue him, setting the stage for a dangerous new chapter.
Sigourney Weaver As General Ward
Making her Star Wars debut, the legendary Sigourney Weaver steps into the galaxy far, far away as General Ward, a formidable New Republic leader who becomes Din Djarin’s point of contact and sends him on a high-risk mission tied to Rotta the Hutt. Ward is also on the trail of something far more ominous: intelligence pointing to a rising threat against the New Republic itself.
Supporting Cast & Cameos
The film is packed with faces that will thrill both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Jonny Coyne appears as the villainous war criminal Janu, while The Mandalorian veteran Dave Filoni returns as the voice of X-Wing pilot Trapper Wolf. Acclaimed voice actor Steve Blum lends his voice to Zeb Orrelios, and in perhaps the most unexpected cameo of the year, legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese reportedly appears as an Ardennian shopkeeper.
Seven years, one exciting cast, and a Grogu who’s ready for his close-up. The galaxy hasn’t felt this alive in a long time.
