Nearly two decades after Bhagam Bhag became a cult comedy, the franchise is officially set to return with a sequel—this time with a refreshed cast and a new creative direction.
Industry sources tell us that Manoj Bajpayee has joined the cast of Bhagam Bhag 2, starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, stepping into a role originally associated with Govinda in the 2006 film. The sequel will mark Bajpayee’s first outing in the Bhagam Bhag universe, adding a new flavour to the chaotic comedy.
The upcoming film is said to feature a fresh storyline built around mistaken identities, a comedy of errors, and escalating confusion, promising a fast-paced, madcap adventure while retaining the irreverent spirit of the original. The narrative leans heavily on situational humour and high-voltage performances, a space where the franchise has traditionally thrived.
While details about the director and supporting cast are being kept under wraps, sources confirm that shooting for Bhagam Bhag 2 is scheduled to begin next month in Mumbai.
With Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal reprising their much-loved partnership and Manoj Bajpayee stepping into a key comic role, Bhagam Bhag 2 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated comedy sequels currently in development.
