The wheels are in motion for one of Bollywood’s most anticipated patriotic dramas as the recce for Salman Khan’s upcoming biopic has officially begun in the stark terrains of Leh and Ladakh. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film will see Salman step into the shoes of Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu — the braveheart who laid down his life during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.
Colonel Santosh Babu, commanding the 16 Bihar Regiment, was martyred in the violent standoff between Indian and Chinese troops, becoming the first Indian Army officer to be killed in action against the PLA since 1967. His heroism and leadership during the conflict left a lasting imprint on the nation’s consciousness.

To ensure authenticity, Lakhia and his core team are currently scouting key locations in Ladakh that reflect the intense and unforgiving terrain where the real-life events unfolded. The film, backed by a strong emotional and nationalistic core, is expected to go on floors later this year.
