Kurt Vogel Russell, an American actor, was born on March 17, 1951. At the age of 12, he made his television debut in the western series The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters (1963–1964). He signed a 10-year deal with The Walt Disney Company in the late 1960s, and according to Robert Osborne, he was the studio’s top star of the 1970s. Warner Home Video released the film in widescreen format on Region 1 DVD on August 7, 2007.
Elvis Presley plays a crop-dusting pilot in It Happened at the World’s Fair, a 1963 American musical film. The film was shot in Seattle, Washington, which also hosted the Century 21 Exposition and the Seattle World’s Fair. Albert Rosellini, the governor of Washington at the time, offered the location to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer executives. The picture grossed $2.25 million in theatres.
Several scenes are set in the Seattle Center, which includes the Seattle Center Monorail and the Space Needle. Presley and the girl are pursued by security personnel through the Pacific Science Center’s fountains. The hitchhiking scene with Elvis Presley and Gary Lockwood, as well as part of the flying scenes, were shot near Camarillo, California. The entire hitchhiking scenario was shot on 5th Street at Pleasant Valley Road on Camarillo’s south side, up until Mike and Danny were picked up.
