Eric Anthony Roberts, an American actor, was born on April 18, 1956. His acting career began with a prominent role in King of the Gypsies (1978), for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in Bob Fosse’s Star 80. Roberts’ performance as prison escapee Buck McGeehy in Runaway Train (1985) garnered him a third Golden Globe award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Julia Roberts’ older brother, is an actor.

His television credits include three seasons on the sitcom Less Than Perfect, recurring roles on the NBC drama Heroes and the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, Saved by the Light, the legal drama Suits, Fox’s The Finder, and being the only non-UK actor to play The Master in the 1996 Doctor Who television movie.
He is one of the few actors in history to have over 600 credits since the 1970s (blockbusters, independent pictures, animated movies, TV series, animated series, short films, and student movies).
