Andrés Baiz directed The Hidden Face, a 2011 Spanish–Colombian thriller film. Quim Gutiérrez, Clara Lago, and Martina Garca feature in the film.
Adrián who portrayed Quim Gutierrez, a young orchestra director, watches a video of Belén (Clara Lago), his lover, telling him she is leaving him. Adrián feels agitated. He meets Fabiana (Martina Garcia) while drinking away his grief in a bar, and the two begin a romance, with Fabiana moving into the house Adrián had with Belén. Adrián is named as a suspect in Belén’s disappearance, but the investigators are unable to locate any evidence of Adrian’s involvement.
Fabiana discovers the key to the hidden room, but she has no idea what it is for. Because Belén can communicate by tapping on the pipes in the secret room, Fabiana ultimately figures out that Belén is confined in the house. Fabiana pauses as she prepares to open the door, deciding not to save Belén for fear of losing Adrián.
Fabiana is undecided about her decision, but she decides to open the door and check on Belén because she hasn’t heard from her. Fabiana was also shown photographs of Adrián and the violinist by one of the investigators, and she is jealous. Fabiana is checking on Belén, who is laying in a bed in the secret chamber when Belén unexpectedly knocks her out and locks her in the room.
Belén decides to leave the house. She hides the key to the secret room under a bed for Adrián to uncover, as well as a photo of the two of them attached to the secret room’s door mirror. Belén sits alone on the beach in the final scene.
