The Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actress Bhumika Chawla said in a recent interview that she even took a screen test for Bajirao Mastani by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
With Salman Khan in Satish Kaushik’s Tere Naam, actress Bhumika Chawla made her Bollywood debut. They most recently worked together again on Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. She was portrayed as Pooja Hegde’s in-sister. law’s Bhumika recently made startling admissions regarding being replaced by Kareena Kapoor Khan in Jab We Met while still enjoying the movie’s debut. She recently disclosed that she was originally going to appear in the popular Bajirao Mastani movie directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The 2015 film Bajirao Mastani starred Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone. But Bhansali has been working on the film from the days of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. He reportedly planned to create the movie alongside Salman and Shah Rukh Khan, but that plan fell through. Today, Bhumika disclosed during her conversation with Siddharth Kannan that she was also considered for a role in the movie. She said that she even took the role’s screen test, but nothing occurred.
The actress shared, “This was a lot of years ago but then over the years, things changed. My screen test happened soon after Tere Naam. I had done a photo shoot with sir in his style. My saree caught fire because ghee and oil spilled on my saree. I was holding the diyas in his style and it fell, and I was wearing a silk saree. I remember that happened.”
Bhumika previously admitted in the same interview that she felt horrible about being replaced by Kareena in Jab We Met. A Munna Bhai MBBS programme was proposed to her, but it never materialised, she added.
Furthermore featured in significant parts in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan were Palak Tiwari, Shehnaaz Gill, Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal, Venkatesh Daggubati, and Jassie Gill. On the occasion of Eid, the movie was released.
