Bappi Lahiri‘s sudden demise left everyone in shock. The 69-year-old singer and music composer breathed his last on Tuesday night (February 15), at a hospital in Mumbai. Bappi Da’s son-in-law, Gobind Bansal, who is married to Bappi Lahiri’s daughter Reema Lahiri revealed what happened on Tuesday night when Bappi Da left the world.
Talking about Bappi Da’s demise, Gobind said, ‘he got a heart attack.’ “He had been admitted to the hospital for three weeks but was discharged and was back home. He also had his dinner last night at around 8:30-9 pm. But within half an hour of having his dinner, he got a heart attack. His pulse rate had gotten low. He was rushed to the hospital and the doctors declared at 11:44 that he is no more,” added Gobind Bansal.
“It is a very sad day today for us. Dada has entertained the entire country and everybody loved him,” he said.
BAPPI LAHIRI’S FINAL RITES
Bappi Lahiri was cremated at the Vile Parle crematorium today. His son Bappa Lahiri who arrived early morning today from the US performed the last rites.
Many celebrities, including Vidya Balan, Shakti Kapoor, Sophie Choudry, Alka Yagnik, Mika Singh among others were clicked at the funeral.
Bappi Lahiri was born in 1952 as Alokesh Lahiri in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri. The musician brought Disco flavor to India. He made his debut in Hindi cinema with Nanha Shikari in 1973.
