Deepika Padukone is working on dad Prakash’s biopic, says he put India on global map before cricket team won 83 World Cup

Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone recently revealed that she is working on a film based on the life and career of her father, badminton champion Prakash Padukone. In a recent chat, the actress was talking about the challenges that her father faced in his youth and how he was one of the sportspersons to put India on the global level.

Deepika shared that a biopic film based on her father’s life is in the pipeline. She said, “I am working on it. Actually, even before 83 happened, he was one of the first Indian athletes to put India on the global map as far as Indian sport is concerned. He won the World Championship in 1981, which was obviously before 1983.”
Talking about his struggles when the sports facilities were not very advanced, the actress said, “He trained in a marriage hall, that was his badminton court. He used things like the beams that go across to make his shot more precise. He used his disadvantages to his advantage. If he had the facilities that athletes in India have today, then he’d be far more superior.”

Deepika Padukone was recently seen in the film Gehraiyaan. The film also starred Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Dhariya Karwa. Now, she will be seen in Pathan with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham, Fighter with Hrithik Roshan, The Intern with Amitabh Bachchan and in Project K with Prabhas.
