Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s pre-wedding festivities began on Thursday in full swing in Mumbai. Pictures and videos from the duo’s haldi and mehendi ceremony have been doing rounds on the internet since yesterday and the couple will host their sangeet today.
As per the reports, Farhan has prepared a special performance for his bride-to-be Shibani. In addition to this, Shibani’s close friends have prepared a special dance sequence for the couple. Shibani’s BFF Rhea Chakraborty, is also expected to give a performance during the sangeet.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Akhtar’s Mumbai residence was full of family and friends. Joining the couple on their pre-wedding festivities were Shibani’s sisters Anusha and Apeksha Dandekar, Shabana Azmi and close friends Amrita Arora and Rhea Chakraborty.
Taking to social media, earlier this week, Farhan had shared a glimpse of his bachelor party. He dropped pictures with his friends including Ritesh Sidhwani and Shakeel Ladak. He captioned the post, “The boys are back in town. #stagdaynightfever.” Shibani also commented on his post, “Umm… technically I am there too.”
The news of Farhan and Shibani’s marriage was confirmed by Javed Akhtar. He said, “Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners.”
“Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair. Khair abhi tak toh invitations bhi nahi bheje gaye hai,” he further added.
Talking about Shibani, Javed said, “She is a very nice girl. All of us like her very much. The most important thing is that Farhan and she get along very well, which is great.”
Farhan and Shibani have been dating for a while now. The duo will be registering their wedding on February 21 in Mumbai. Reportedly, their D-Day will take place at Javed Akhtar’s Khandala farmhouse on Saturday, February 19.
