Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah who was recently seen in Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan has now revealed that he suffers from a condition called onomatomania. He shared that because of this condition he keeps repeating a phrase or a word and is not able to rest even if he wants to.
Naseer is one of the most respected and loved actors from the Hindi film industry and has worked in films such as Mohra, Sarfarosh, A Wednesday, and more.
In a recent interview, he said, “I suffer from an ailment called onomatomania. I’m not joking. It’s a medical condition. You can check it in the dictionary.”
The actor even explained what the condition means. He added, “Onomatomania is an ailment in which you keep repeating a word or a phrase, a sentence or a verse or a speech for no reason at all. Except that you like to hear it. I do it all the time so I am never quite at rest. Even when I am sleeping, I am going over some passage I love.”
Naseeruddin and his wife, actress Ratna Pathak Shah recently attended the wedding of Sanah Kapur. The picture of the wedding went viral on social media.
On the work front, Naseeruddin was last seen in Gehraiyaan. He essayed the father of Deepika Padukone’s role in the movie. The film also starred Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Dhariya Karwa. He will next be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kuttey.
