Adipurush’s creators recently conducted a special trailer debut event for fans, who posted trailer clips on social media.
Adipurush, starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, has unquestionably emerged as one of Bollywood’s most eagerly anticipated films. Some fans are pleased to see their favourite actors portray the mythical figures, while others are curious about the “specific changes” the filmmakers made to the script. Netizens have been waiting for the creators of the Om Raut directed film to eventually unveil the trailer ever since the teaser garnered negative feedback.
Well, the Adipurush crew conducted a special screening for a select group of fans in Hyderabad hours before the movie’s trailer was supposed to be released. After the event, several of the fans posted teaser clips to social media, and they quickly went viral. India TV said that the film’s team is making every effort to take all required steps to remove the leaked tapes and tweets.
Following the release of the pirated footage, many fans and internet users expressed their dissatisfaction with the film on Twitter. Online memes mocking Prabhas’ appearance and the VFX are circulating. Even one wrote, “Just saw the “new” #AdipurushTrailer. Honestly it is as bad as the old one. Showing more scenes won’t make it better.”
Talking about the backlash the teaser of the movie faced, Om Raut during a media interaction had said, “We wanted to tell the story of Shri Ram and ‘Ramayana’ to the youth of not just our nation but the entire world.” He had gone on to express how facing such challenges only make cinema better and the journey stronger. He added, “Especially with a film like this, which is a first of its kind in India, as we have used technology that is seen in big Hollywood films like Marvels, DC and ‘Avatar’.”
The film, starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Sunny Singh, is scheduled for release on June 16. Adipurush, which Bhushan Kumar co-produced, will be made available in other languages. It will be screened at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival in New York before being made available in India.
