In the movie Padmaavat, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh played Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji, respectively, and Shahid Kapoor played Maharawal Ratan Singh.
Shahid Kapoor, an actor, recently stated that he did not enjoy himself in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical drama Padmaavat. Shahid is currently promoting his new movie Bloody Daddy. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh both played prominent parts in the 2018 movie, which also featured them. After being embroiled in various issues, it was finally released in cinemas. While Deepika and Ranveer played Rani Padmaavati and Alauddin Khilji, respectively, Shahid played Maharawal Ratan Singh in the movie. Shahid claimed in an interview that he played a ‘uptight’ character in the movie.
Padmaavat, starring Shahid, Deepika, and Ranveer, was a huge box office success. The movie managed to dazzle the audience with its grandeur and strong performances in spite of confronting legal issues. Shahid may have been fascinating to see in a different setting, but it appears that he disliked himself in the movie. The actor recently discussed this in an interview with Humans of Bombay.
Shahid shared, “I did not like myself. I was so uptight. I think I did not bring out other elements of that personality, I got stuck in a headspace. I am being candid, maybe other people liked me, but I did not.”Â
In a recent interview, Shahid also mentioned that Misha and Zain had seen him for the first time on a huge screen. They reportedly saw his movie Jab We Met with Mira Rajput, he said. Jab We Met is a family movie and the only one where Shahid isn’t “hitting people and doing all this intense stuff,” according to Shahid. He also stated that his wife encouraged them to see it.
Sanjay Kapoor and Diana Penty both play significant parts in Shahid’s Bloody Daddy. The movie, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, will debut on Jio Cinema on June 9.
