Siddharth Anand directed and Sajid Nadiadwala produced Anjaana Anjaani, a 2010 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama film. Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra play two suicidal strangers who meet and establish a pact to kill themselves on New Year’s Eve in twenty days. In the meantime, the pair fulfills their particular desires before falling in love. The soundtrack was composed by Vishal-Shekhar, with lyrics written by a variety of performers, including the team themselves.
Anand struggled to come up with innovative concepts for a romantic picture he wanted to make when he was writing. His wife Mamta then came up with the film’s central plot, which piqued his interest and shifted his viewpoint. Anand approached novelist Advaita Kala, who turned the narrative into a feature-length script and eventually collaborated with him on the screenplay. The majority of the filming took place in New York City, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.
On October 1, 2010, the film was released to mediocre reviews. The lead performances, music, and cinematography were all acclaimed by critics, while the narrative and pace were panned. Anjaana Anjaani, which had a production and marketing expenditure of Rupees 380 million, grossed Rupees 685 million at the box office, making it a box office success. For the film’s music, Vishal-Shekhar was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Music Director.
