South Korean dramas have quite a following in the country. Many rom-coms have a big following amongst Indian users. The appetite for good content is growing and people are looking for something refreshing to watch. Gyul Baek fits the bill in this regard.
The movie is inspired by a real-life incident. It is a story about a lawyer (Shin Hye-Sun) who is trying to uncover the secrets of a small village while defending her estranged mother in a murder trial. The movie begins with the funeral of her father. Someone at the party secretly poisons everyone’s drink leading to several deaths and a game of baseless blames that involves every attendee. While certain evidence indicates to a certain culprit who everyone thinks has poisoned the drink, turns out to be a patient diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Jung-In takes up her mother’s case and promises to reveal the true criminal while defending her mother from unlawful allegations. She senses the truth is buried in her mother’s case and is sure that her mother is innocent. Watch this ploy with a never-ending ruse of turns and twists that will keep you guessing if the mother’s truly innocent? Only time and patience will tell.
