What are Nickelodeon movies?

Nickelodeon Movies is the theatrical motion picture production division of Nickelodeon, an American children’s television network that produces both animated and live-action films. The division was created on February 25, 1995, and is now part of Paramount Pictures’ Paramount Players division, which is owned by ViacomCBS and ultimately by National Amusements.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Rango, Harriet the Spy, Good Burger, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Adventures of Tintin, Mad Hot Ballroom, The Rugrats Movie, Charlotte’s Web, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Nacho Libre, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold are just a few of the hit movies produced by the company. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie, their next feature, will be published on Netflix in 2022.

Four Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, two Academy Awards, and a Golden Globe have all been bestowed upon the studio. It was also nominated for 13 Saturn Awards, however, none of the movies have won in any of the years.

Ramsey Naito, who was previously the Nickelodeon Group’s EVP of animation production and development, has taken over as the new animation president in September 2020, overseeing animation content across all media and channels, including visual, streaming, TV videos, theatrical motion pictures, and SVOD. Nickelodeon decided in August 2021 to coproduce The Loud House Movie with the British organization BFI for Netflix distribution, however, BFI stated that it would not be released in select cinemas (excluding Paramount, rather unlike Spin Master’s PAW Patrol film).
