Which are the top 3 basketball movies of all time?

Basketball has been the subject of numerous films throughout cinematic history, ranging from classics to B-movies. Following the release of Space Jam 2 in the United States and the United Kingdom in July 2021, we recommend the top three basketball movies ever made. This is not a ranking, but rather a list of the top three not-to-be-missed films, which are either true-to-life adaptations or completely fictional stories with a similar theme.

1.      Glory RoadCoach Don Haskins of the Texas Western Miners led the first all-black starting lineup squad to the NCAA national basketball championship victory in 1966. Coach Haskins has a lot going against him: first, Texas Western has a bad basketball program, and second, he can’t seem to recruit good white players.

2.      Coach Carter: Ken Carter, a high school basketball coach, is embroiled in controversy after benching his whole team for violating their academic contract with him. Funny, exhilarating, adrenaline-pumping, and emotionally affecting. Ken Carter coached the Richmond Oilers, and this is their true story.

3.      The Carter Effect: Sean Menard’s latest film provides a unique glimpse at Vince Carter, the six-foot-six, eight-time NBA All-Star from Daytona Beach who created ripples in the Canadian basketball scene when he joined the Raptors in 1998.
