Which Die Hard movie made the most money?

Live Free or Die Hard is the fourth entry in the Die Hard movie franchise, and it was released in 2007. Len Wiseman directed the film. It’s based on John Carlin’s Wired magazine piece ‘A Farewell to Arms’ from 1997. The title of the film is a play on the state motto of New Hampshire, ‘Live Free or Die.’

In the film, NYPD Detective John McClane tries to stop a cyber-terrorist from hacking into government and commercial systems across the country in order to launch a ‘fire sale’ that would cripple crucial sections of the country’s infrastructure. In addition, the film also stars Justin Long, Cliff Curtis, and Maggie Q.

On June 27, 2007, the film Live Free or Die Hard was released in the United States. The movie grossed a total of $383.5 million domestically and $249.0 million internationally, making it the twelfth highest-grossing movie of the year. It is the most successful movie in the series as of 2011.

It earned mostly excellent reviews from critics, who saw it as a return to form for the franchise. It is the first Die Hard film to be released in theatres with a PG-13 classification from the MPAA, but an unrated version would be released later. A Good Day to Die Hard, the fifth film in the series, was released in 2013.
