Which is Channing Tatum’s first super hit movie?

Channing Matthew Tatum is an American actor, producer, and dancer who was born on April 26, 1980. Tatum made his cinematic debut in Coach Carter, a drama (2005). His breakout part came in the dancing flick Step Up in 2006, which brought him to a broader audience.

Step Up is a romantic dance drama movie directed by Anne Fletcher (in her feature directorial debut) and based on a screenplay by Duane Adler and Melissa Rosenberg and a storyline by Adler. Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan, Mario, Drew Sidora, and Rachel Griffiths star in the picture.

The movie is slated in Baltimore, Maryland, and tells the story of poor Tyler Gage (Tatum) and privileged contemporary dancer Nora Clark (Dewan), who are put together in a showcase that will define their destinies. They ultimately work together after realizing they only had one shot.

Touchstone Pictures and Summit Entertainment released Step Up in the United States on August 11, 2006. Despite generally unfavorable reviews from critics, the picture was a box office triumph, collecting $114.2 million worldwide on a $12 million budget. It produced a series of four sequels as well as a television show.
