David Yates directed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in 2011, which was released by Warner Bros. Pictures. Part 2 is the only Harry Potter movie to be released in 3-D, and it was released in 2D, 3-D, and IMAX theaters worldwide from July 13 to 15, 2011. The film was a box office hit and one of the most well-received movies of 2011, with praise for the performances, Yates’ direction, musical score, visual effects, cinematography, action sequences, and satisfying climax to the narrative.

The second part broke the global opening weekend record with $483.2 million, as well as broke opening day and opening weekend records in several countries. It earned more than $1.3 billion globally, making it the third-highest-grossing picture of all time and the highest-grossing movie of 2011.

In the United States, the Blu-ray and DVD sets were released on November 11, 2011, and in the United Kingdom on December 2, 2011. On DVD and Blu-ray, the movie was included in the Harry Potter: Complete 8-Film Collection box set, which contained all eight pictures as well as new bonus features. Parts 1 and 2 were released on DVD and Blu-ray as a combo pack on November 11, 2011, in Canada.
