Which is the debut movie of Michael Myers?

Michael John Myers, OC is a Canadian actor, comedian, director, producer, screenwriter, and singer, born on May 25, 1963. He is best known for his role as the title character in the Wayne’s World, Austin Powers, and Shrek film series, which he played from 1989 to 1995 on Saturday Night Live.

Michael Myers initially appeared in the movie Halloween (1978). Halloween is a 1978 independent American slasher movie directed and produced by John Carpenter, co-written with producer Debra Hill, and starring Donald Pleasence and Jamie Lee Curtis in her cinematic debut. The story revolves around Michael Myers, a mentally ill patient who was sent to a mental institution after killing his babysitting adolescent sister on Halloween night when he was six years old. He escapes and returns to his hometown fifteen years later, where he chases a female babysitter and her friends while being pursued by his psychiatrist.

Filming began in May 1978 in Southern California, and it premiered in October 1978, grossing $70 million, making it one of the most profitable independent films of all time. Many critics identify the picture as the first in a long line of slasher films influenced by Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960) and Bob Clark’s Black Christmas, primarily because of Carpenter’s direction and score (1974).

Halloween spawned an eleven-film series that helped build a rich background for its antagonist Michael Myers, occasionally veering completely from prior episodes. In 1981, a direct sequel to the movie was released.
