How is the movie Crazy Rich Asians?

Crazy Rich Asians is a 2018 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Jon M. Chu, based on Kevin Kwan’s 2013 novel of the same name. The script was written by Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim. Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, Lisa Lu, Awkwafina, Ken Jeong, and Michelle Yeoh feature in the movie.

It revolves around a Chinese-American professor who travels to Singapore to meet her boyfriend’s family and is surprised to learn that they are among Singapore’s wealthiest. After the book’s rights were secured, the film was announced in August 2013. Many of the cast members signed on in the spring of 2017, and filming took place in Singapore, Malaysia, and New York City from April through June of that year.

The film was a critical and financial triumph, generating over $238 million on a $30 million budget, making it the highest-grossing romantic comedy of the decade, and receiving high accolades for its cast, writing, and production design.

Wu garnered multiple awards, including nominations for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical at the 76th Golden Globe Awards. It was nominated for Outstanding Motion Picture at the 50th NAACP Image Awards.
Two sequels, based on the novel’s sequels China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems, were in the works for a while but have since been put on hold.
