Which is Barbra Streisand’s most famous movie?

Barbara Joan Barbra Streisand, an American singer, actress, and director, was born on April 24, 1942. She has won Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, and Tony Awards during her six-decade career, and she is one of the few performers to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award (EGOT).

Barbra Streisand and Richard Dreyfuss featured in Nuts, a 1987 American drama movie directed by Martin Ritt. Tom Topor, Darryl Ponicsan, and Alvin Sargent wrote the screenplay, which is based on Topor’s 1979 play of the same name. It was the final feature picture for both Karl Malden and Robert Webber, as well as Leslie Nielsen’s last non-comedic part.

Claudia Draper’s mother Rose and stepfather Arthur try to have her deemed mentally incompetent by Dr. Herbert Morrison to prevent a public scandal when she murders client Allen Green in self-defense. Claudia is aware that if her parents are successful, she will be sent to an indefinite mental facility, therefore she is determined to show that she is sane enough to stand trial.

Universal Studios bought the film rights to Tom Topor’s off-Broadway play and helped finance its transfer to Broadway in 1980. In January 1982, the company gave its blessing to the movie version, announcing that Mark Rydell would produce and direct Debra Winger in the low-budget feature. Although Barbra Streisand had pushed for the part, filming was set to begin in the summer of 1982, and Rydell was unwilling to put the movie on hold until she finished Yentl.

The movie received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture – Drama. Streisand was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama and Best Foreign Actress. Dreyfuss received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.
