Which is the last Saw movie?

Kevin Greutert directed and Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan wrote Saw 3D, a 2010 American 3D horror movie. It’s the seventh installment in the Saw movie franchise. Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, Sean Patrick Flanery, and Cary Elwes star in the movie. It is the final installment in the Saw franchise.

It also featured Chester Bennington’s final film cameo before his death in 2017. The plot revolves around a man who, after falsely pretending to be a survivor of one of the Jigsaw Killer’s games to gain local renown, finds himself in the middle of a real game in which he must save his wife. Meanwhile, Jill Tuck notifies Internal Affairs that renegade Detective Mark Hoffman is behind the latest Jigsaw games, and Hoffman goes on the hunt for her.

A sequel was planned, however, due to Saw VI’s lower box office success than prior installments, Saw 3D was chosen as the series’s final installment, and the plot premise for Saw VIII was incorporated into Saw 3D. David Hackl, the director of Saw V, was set to direct the picture, but Lionsgate revealed two weeks before filming that Greutert, the filmmaker of the sixth film, would take over.

From February to April 2010, principal photography took place in Toronto, Ontario, and was shot utilizing the SI-3D digital camera system, rather than shooting with regular cameras and then converting to 3D in post-production.

Lionsgate had planned to release the film in the United States on October 22, 2010, but it was pushed back a week to October 29, 2010; it was released a day earlier in the United Kingdom and Australia. It debuted at the top of the box office, grossing more than $22.5 million. Jigsaw, the ninth movie, was released in 2017.
