How is the film, Warrior?

Gavin O’Connor directed Warrior, a 2011 American sports drama movie. It stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton as two estranged brothers who must reconcile their lives and each other after competing in a mixed martial arts event.

In supporting roles, Nick Nolte, Jennifer Morrison, Frank Grillo, and Bryan Callen appear. Kurt Angle, Nate Marquardt, Anthony Johnson, Roan Carneiro, Yves Edwards, Amir Perets, and Dan Caldwell are among the real-life MMA and combat sports stars who make appearances.
Lionsgate distributed the picture in theatres in the United States on September 9, 2011. Despite the film’s lack of commercial success, reviewers praised it, and Nolte was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

The filming took place at Mogul Minds Studios (now 31st Street Studios) in Pittsburgh, as well as the University of Pittsburgh’s Petersen Events Center and the Twin Hi-Way Drive-In. Some sequences were shot at North Hills Senior High School. The outside sequences of the main fight venue, as well as those taken on the boardwalk and shore, were shot at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

On July 19, 2011, the book Men of Warrior was launched. The Lionsgate effort ‘We Are All Warriors’ was launched on August 1, 2011, to promote the release of Warrior by recognizing everyday heroes.

Warrior premiered in third place with $5.2 million in its first week in the United States, trailing Contagion and The Help. The following weekend, it slid to #8. The picture grossed $23.3 million worldwide, with $13.7 million in the United States and Canada and $9.6 million in other countries.
