The Curve is a horror thriller directed by Iain Softley and written by Kimberly Lofstrom Johnson and Lee Patterson that was released in 2015. Julianne Hough and Teddy Sears feature in the film. Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions label produced the film. On August 31, 2015, the film made its international premiere at the Film4 Fright Fest. Universal Pictures released the film on January 19, 2016, through video on demand before releasing it on home media platforms on February 2, 2016.

Mallory Rutledge is traveling to Denver in her fiancé’s truck to meet him and marry him. She talks to her sister Ella while driving along the lonely road and decides to take a diversion to see the Grand Canyon. The truck suddenly comes to a halt, and Mallory’s cell phone loses signal.

Christian Laughton, a compassionate drifter, offers to fix the car, which Mallory accepts. Then she offers him a ride, and as she is driving, he speaks to her in a pornographic manner. She begs him to leave, but he brandishes a knife and orders her to a run-down motel.

When Mallory notices that Christian, the psychopath, is not wearing the seat belt, she decides to drive the truck off the road in a curve. But Mallory’s leg is stuck in the overturned automobile, and Christian abandons her. This is the start of Mallory’s worst nightmare.

Ombra Films, Blumhouse Productions, and LBI Entertainment teamed up to produce the film in October 2013, with Iain Softley directing from a screenplay by Kimberly Johnson that was re-written by Lee Patterson, Juan Sola, and Erik Olsen executive producing, and Jason Blum producing through his Blumhouse Productions banner.
