Which Hollywood movie was made on an earthquake in 2009?

Roland Emmerich directed and wrote the 2009 American science fiction disaster film 2012. It was written by Kloser and Emmerich and produced by Harald Kloser, Mark Gordon, and Larry J. Franco.

John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Oliver Platt, Thandiwe Newton, Danny Glover, and Woody Harrelson are among the cast members. The plot follows geologist Adrian Helmsley (Ejiofor) and author Jackson Curtis (Cusack) as they encounter the events prophesied by the 2012 phenomenon.

Filming, which had been scheduled for Los Angeles, began in August 2008 in Vancouver. After a lengthy marketing campaign that involved the establishment of a website from the perspective of the film’s major characters as well as a viral marketing website where moviegoers could register for a lottery number to save them from the calamity, the film was released.
