Golmaal Again is a horror action comedy film directed and written by Rohit Shetty and produced by Rohit Shetty Pictures, Mangal Murti Films, and Reliance Entertainment. It is the fourth chapter of the Golmaal franchise and stars Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Khemu, and Allari Naresh, with a total budget of 69 crores including production and marketing costs. The film’s soundtrack was composed by Amaal Mallik, S. Thaman, Lijo George-DJ Chetas, and Abhishek Arora, and the film’s lyrics were written by Kumaar. Filming began in March 2017, and the film was released in theatres globally on Diwali 2017 with a duration of 152 minutes.
Despite competing with Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar, Golmaal Again became one of the year’s biggest grossing films and a box office blockbuster. The film’s total domestic net collection was more than 205 crores, with a global gross of 311 crores. Critics gave the picture mixed reviews, praising it for its humor and performances while criticizing it for its technical shortcomings.
Golmaal Again has one of the highest opening days for a Bollywood film in 2017, grossing Rupees 30.10 crore on its first day. On the second day, the picture grossed Rupees 28.25 Crore. The third day brought in a total of Rupees 28.5 Crore. Because the film has good earnings from other sources, Golmaal Again will be called a hit if its total box office collections surpass 100 crores.
