In a major development, Dinesh Vijan’s ambitious film Shakti Shalini, starring Kiara Advani, has been postponed by a year following news of the actress’s pregnancy. Kiara, who is expecting her first child with husband Sidharth Malhotra, will be taking a maternity break and is expected to return to work only by mid-next year.
The delay has significantly impacted the release timelines of the Maddock Heroes Connected Universe (MHCU), which recently announced an elaborate slate of eight interconnected films planned for rollout over the next four years.

Sources close to the project confirm that despite initial speculation about a possible recast, the makers have decided to retain Kiara as the lead. Directed by Tabbar fame Ajitpal Singh, Shakti Shalini was initially scheduled to go on floors this June. The team is now reworking the production schedule to accommodate Kiara’s maternity break, with filming expected to commence only after her return.
