Was Chashme Baddoor a hit?

Chashme Baddoor is a slapstick comedy film directed by David Dhawan and written by Sajid and Farhad Samji that was released in India in 2013. Ali Zafar and debutante Taapsee Pannu feature alongside Divyenndu and Siddharth in this official remake of the 1981 film Chashme Buddoor, which was produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. On April 5, 2013, the film was released.

The remake of Chashme Baddoor began in 2006, with Onir attached to the project at the time. Later, it was revealed that David Dhawan will be directing the film, with Sai Paranjpye, the director of the 1981 film, penning the script. Dhawan stated that the remake would include various modifications, such as the tale being updated to the present day and the remake having a greater budget than the original.

Siddharth was cast as Jomo in 2011, with Dhawan admitting that casting the role was challenging due to Ravi Baswani’s demise in 2010 and that he wanted to cast someone who could ‘give honor to his part.’ Omi will be performed by Divyendu Sharma, who was previously unknown. Ali Zafar was hurt during a fight scene with Ayaz Khan during filming in Mauritius in 2012.

This picture became one of the year’s top box office hits. The adult comedy, which was created on a shoestring budget of about 20 crores, has raked in a whopping 25.45 crore at the domestic box office in just five days.
