Walter Bruce Willis, an American actor, was born on March 19, 1955. In the 1970s, he began his career in the off-Broadway theatre. He rose to prominence after starring in the comedy-drama series Moonlighting (1985–1989) and has since acted in over 70 films, with his portrayal of John McClane in the Die Hard franchise (1988–2013) and several following roles earning him a global reputation as an action hero.
