Who is Kiran Kumar?

Kiran Kumar (born Deepak Dhar) is an Indian actor who has appeared on the big screen and in the theatre. He has appeared in a number of television and cinema projects in Hindi, Bhojpuri, and Gujarati. Charlie 2 is his most recent drama. Kiran was born into an aristocratic Kashmiri Pandit family; his great-grandfather was a nobleman who served as the Wazir-e-Wazarat of the Gilgit Agency.

He went to Daly College in Indore, then to R.D. National College in Bandra, Mumbai, and finally to the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune. Among his pals at the Film and Television Institute of India, he was known as ‘Deepak Dhar.’

Kumar made his film debut in 1971 with Do Boond Pani and went on to star in a number of other films. Kumar’s career suffered as a result of the release of films such as Jangal Mein Mangal and others. Rakesh Roshan’s Khudgarz reintroduced him to Hindi cinema, where he earned acclaim for his antihero portrayals in films like Tezaab and Khuda Gawah.

Cinevistas was one of his first television programs (Sunil Mehta, Prem Kishen). Since then, he has established himself as a television star in shows like Zindagi, Ghutan, Sahil, Manzil, Grihasti, Katha Sagar, Aur Phir Ek Din, Papa, Miilee, Chhajje Chajje Ka Pyar, and others.
