Is Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse film a sequel?

Thomas Leo Clancy Jr. popularly known as Tom Clancy was an American novelist who was born on April 12, 1947. His espionage and military science tales set during and after the Cold War are his most well-known works.

Without Remorse, alternatively known as Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, is an American action thriller movie released in 2021, based on Tom Clancy’s 1993 novel of the same name. Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lauren London, Brett Gelman, Jacob Scipio, Jack Kesy, Colman Domingo, and Guy Pearce feature in the film, which is directed by Stefano Sollima and written by Taylor Sheridan and Will Staples. After his pregnant wife and unit members are killed by Russian hitmen, John Kelly, a US Navy SEAL, sets out on a path of vengeance.

Since the novel’s publication in 1993, the movie has been in development, with actors such as Keanu Reeves and Tom Hardy being considered for the character of Kelly. Jordan was cast as the lead character in September 2018, after more than two decades in development hell, and Sheridan was tapped to rewrite a script written in the 1990s. Filming started in Berlin in October 2019 and finished in October 2020.

The movie was originally created by Paramount Pictures and scheduled for a theatrical release, but it was delayed before being acquired by Amazon Studios, who released it online on Amazon Prime Video on April 30, 2021. Critics gave it mixed reviews, praising Jordan’s performance but dismissing the movie as generic.
