Which Indian city is known as a film city?

The Indian film industry is one of the world’s largest, accounting for 60% of all films made in the country. In India, the Kalgarre complex has been developed at Goregaon. Mumbai has had a significant impact on the evolution of cinematography. Dadasaheb Phalke, the pioneer of Indian cinema, made the city’s first feature film, Raja Harishchandra.

For the next century, Mumbai has remained the main center of the Indian film industry. It is an integrated film studio complex in Goregaon East, Mumbai, India, near the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It has a number of recording studios, parks, lakes, theatres, and grounds that are used for Bollywood film shoots. In 2001, it was renamed Dadasaheb Phalke Chitra Nagari in honor of India’s first producer, director, and screenwriter, Dadasaheb Phalke, who is widely regarded as the ‘Father of Indian Cinema’. It has been used as the backdrop for nearly all Bollywood films. There are temples, prisons, courts, lakes, mountains, fountains, villages, picnic places, gardens, and even a man-made waterfall suitable for filming.

Film City is located in the Mumbai suburbs and spans over 520 acres of land with roughly 42 outdoor shooting locations and 16 studios of varied sizes. The Maharashtra state government’s tourism authority launched public guided tours of the studio in 2014, with each ticket costing around 650 rupees.
